The building complex where this studio apartment is located may not be an official campus residence, but it is a true student community and will feel like you’re living in a city within a city. The studio space is fantastic: the front door opens into a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave and sink, which you can easily hide by pulling down a fitted hood that also works perfectly for extra counter space. To the left of this area is your private bathroom with a shower stall. The bedroom area is furnished with a single bed, ample storage space and a desk with two chairs, where you can study or share a meal with a friend. You also have a nice big French balcony that lets in lots of natural light, and the apartment is equipped with central heating, A/C and Wi-Fi.
Located in Tor Vergata, you are near the University of Rome II. This is definitely the neighborhood and community where you want to be as a student. While this is a quiet residential part of Rome, it isn’t without points of interest beyond your studies, though, even outside of the wide range of events held within the complex itself. The nearby Cinecittá Studios is an exciting historical landmark—the largest film studio in Europe—so you may want to check it out. Closer to home, you can pick up new clothes, shoes, and other items in the Tor Vergata shopping mall. Closer still, within a 15-minute walk, there’s an archaeological museum, a media store, a copy shop, as well as a few small cafés and restaurants, including a pizzeria!
What we liked the most
- The apartment complex offers a number of fantastic extras, including a common laundry room with washers and dryers, quiet communal study rooms, access to a private gym 3 times per week, an on-site restaurant, an on-site supermarket, and many special events.
- Your apartment is a short bus ride to the campus of the University of Rome II—and even shorter if you attend the schools of medicine and surgery, economics, humanities, or engineering. And don’t forget to take advantage of the shuttle since the cost is included in your rent!
- For an interesting day out, check out the historical Cinecittà Studios, where many famous Federico Fellini films were made.
- There’s a shopping mall just a 15-minute walk from your apartment.
